Whether it was the resurrection of the “lob” or the introduction of the pastel hair trend, 2015 was chock full of stand-out hair moments. In the spirit of the end of the year roundups, we’ve narrowed down the best red carpet hair moments of the year.

1. Beyonce’s Sky High Ponytail

One hairstyle we didn’t think we’d ever see at the Met Gala is a ponytail. Usually reserved for the gym, ponytails are the epitome of effortless.
…Leave it to Beyonce to bend the rules and make the sky high ponytail chic again.

2. Gigi Hadid’s Lob
Gigi stepped out onto the red carpet with her blonde locks seemingly chopped off and sported this chic “lob” style instead.

We always love a good hair switch-up, and Kerry Washington’s bang decision was one of our favorites in 2015.

Platinum locks made a comeback this year, and Jennifer Lawrence started the trend with her blonde hair makeover.
